Frivolous - Meteorology

Daniel Gardner gives us the lowdown on his Meteorology album for Cadenza -- and reveals some of his homemade instruments... which include a kitchen knife... Meteorology is no ordinary house album. Experimental is maybe too strong a description, but it certainly tries new things and can take a few listens to get into. Once you are in, though, it's an addictive piece of work, and a testament to the talents of Daniel Gardner -- aka Frivolous. That an album like this should appear on Luciano's Cadenza also says something about Daniel's musical abilities. Think Cadenza, and you think of music for the floor -- which Meteorology isn't. Even if much of it does make you want to dance. All in all, it's an album brimming with intrigue, which is why EQTV spoke to Daniel via webcam to find out more about his stance against bland music and to get a look at what a true innovator does with a kitchen knife, a xylophone, some guitar pick-ups and a USB connection... Meteorology is out on Cadenza. Visit www.frivolouslive.com and http eqtv.dj (www.eqtv.dj) is one of the UK's leading electronic music and club culture websites with a global reach.
