A parent killdeer trying to distract potential predators! Their nests are amazingly cryptic. This one was right in the middle of a gravel road!

Me and my kids have ridden past this bird several times on our bike rides. It was only a couple of days earlier that I noticed her nest and eggs. She has picked about the worse location on the planet to make her nest. I am really surprised no one has smashed the eggs either on purpose or accident. I am afraid my wobbly kids will swerve off the sidewalk and run over the nest. Well enjoy.
