LNER A4 4464 on the Cathedrals Explorer on the 24/5/12.

LNER A4 4464 " Bittern " hauled day 7 of the Cathedrals Explorer railtour from Edinburgh to Hellifield via the S&C . The tour departed later than booked and is first seen at Elvanfoot working well but with not visible exhaust due to the very warm weather . The next shot sees 4464 shortly after leaving the loop at Beattock summit and then leaving Beattock village at about 2pm. The return would see a valanced A4 over the Settle and Carlisle line since Mallard in 1988 . The tour had major delays on the return and is seen crossing Crosby Garrett viaduct and Smardale viaduct on the the way to Aisgill summit at about 7-45pm . Thanks to the two young chaps at Elvanfoot for telling me the tour was running late and Stu for the updates . Best watched in 720 hd .
