So Flickr really does not have unlimited upload file size? I just tried this pic in full res, a cool 67MB. It would not upload... hopefully this will do...

Currently I am putting together a set of 50 great photography destinations in the Pacific Northwest. All locations are geo-tagged, so you can check them out yourself-----> PACNW Top 50

The Shot
The Hallgrimskirkja in Iceland is an amazing place to shoot at any time. I prefer it just after the sun dips below the horizon around 2 or 3 am. The sky lights up blue, or some other wild color, and the nightly Icelandic cloud cover makes for perfect photography

TIPS: HMMM
Well with a photo a day from now on, there is no way I can share a tip with each shot…. tonight tip is, shoot and process as much as possible, but above all, TRAVEL. Anyone can be a good photographer, not everyone travels the places necessary to get great shots.

Enjoy….

Currently I am putting together a set of 50 great photography destinations in the Pacific Northwest. All locations are geo-tagged, so you can check them out yourself-----> PACNW Top 50

The Shot
My last day in Iceland(yesterday morning) I found myself driving near the Blue Lagoon around 4 am in the morning, so I stopped by to grab a few pics. The place is surreal during the day when most people visit. Add lack of sleep and the sun rising and it becomes a complete dream land. Awesome place.

TIPS: On the Road
Besides being the name of the book that started it all for me, travel is something that you must do to become a better photographer. Not only does it allow you to step outside of your normal every day life and learn new ideas and meet new people. It gives you the chance to provide people with a new way of seeing a country they may have seen a million pictures of before. When I do a trip for photography, the plan is to go places that most people do not, this way I can provide pictures that are normally not seen. This picture is not an example of that, but all of the rest of my Iceland pics for the most part will be. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that is new to not only your brain but your eyes as well. Yes all those pics on Flickr look amazing, but you have already seen those places. Find new ones, explore, get off the beaten path, and open up new places to the world. Or at least places that are not highly photographed. You will be suppressed how easy they are to find.

So get out there, explore, travel, and shoot new material!

We rented a camper from www.Happycampers.is, which I highly recommend to tour the island. A bit pricey, but still much cheaper and easier than hotels, especially for all you photographers out there.

Enjoy….
