Labour Out??
Is the positioning of this sign an omen for the Labour Party, who are currently in government?
Today saw the first full day of campaigning for the upcoming General Election for the UK Parliament. This is considered a marginal seat and a hard-fought campaign is expected over the next four weeks.
The Labour Party and the Lib Dems were very busy during the night putting up their election signs around Stornoway.
Reached Explore #10 7th April 2010 and has been used in various media reports about the election and is now on the Wikipedia page for the 2010 UK General Election.

Southern Lights
Northern lights is a sky spectacle attracting thousands of tourists to the areas North of the Arctic circle at winter. UK, unfortunately, is too far South to experience this phenomenon. The only sky spectacle you can see here is the light pollution from big cities illuminating the sky.
This shot was taken at midnight at Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales national park. Here you can easily enjoy the starry black sky... until the clouds come in. Once that happens, a bright glow appears in the horizon. Judging by the position, I presume these are the metropolitan areas of Leeds/Bradford on the left and Manchester on the right. Pendle hill can be seen on the right.
The foreground was lit by the nearly full moon.
