Check out these japan images:

Sulphurous steam clads the mountainside in ghostly white. Half-visible figures pass in and out of the mist like visions of Dante. As they draw closer, fear grips your heart as it dawns on you that they are Japanese tourists, and want you to take a photo of them with their boyfriends.

The clouds drew in especially to ruin our view of Fuji-san.

FAR BETTER IN ORIGINAL SIZE!!

This is from the flight Tokyo to Miyazaki, Kyushu, above Sagami Bay, just about to pass over Izu peninsula. It was very clear. I regret that I did not bring PL filter, so I had to reduce blue much on Photoshop and it became much grainy. All the over 3000m (10000 feet) mountains in Japan are in this shot

Another regret is that the captain of this plane, perhaps by forgetting, was very late to release the cabin status from fasten seat belt condition under which passengers are not allowed to use electric equipments, after long while the plane changed to level navigation without turbulence. Otherwise I could have take fabulous view of Mt.Fuji from Tokyo bay, over big city with skyscrapers and lovely Tanzawa mountains. CA in Japanese domestic flight have almost no service work to do on flight so chief purser would not hurry captain to release them from the seats, I guess.
